About Tory

Tory Hughes has been working with polymer and mixed media professionally since 1984. Her work is in permanent collections of major museums, and in copious publications. Mostly that is because she loves to make things, to explore and fabricate and invent. Tory invented the imitative techniques in the early-mid-1990s: how to recreate ivory, coral, turquoise, lapis, jade, amber, etc etc.

She has produced 15 instructional DVDs, published two books and written of numerous articles. Tory has been teaching around the world since 1986. In her classes Tory encourages people to connect to their own creativity while she gives them technical and personal tools to do.
