My work focuses on pottery in a Japanese folk craft style, carried out with muted colours and earthen tones. Structurally, I love making cups, bowls, teapots and sake bottles. I am often inspired by the work of Bernard Leach and Shoji Hamada, but would like to extend these styles into new and experimental areas.

I have been known to make brightly-coloured sculptural pieces that take me out of my comfort zone, in the belief that ceramicists should always live on the cutting edge.
