Wendy has been working with polymer clay for more than twenty years to create wearable figurative art. She is inspired by the colour and jewellery traditions of other cultures and her observations of her physical environment. Wendy spent some time living in Nepal which encouraged her to take some risks and incorporate vibrant colour into her work. She’s also lived in Broken Hill and was inspired by the colours and flowers of the desert. “I think my work is an expression of being alive; waking up every morning and having another day and having health.” Wendy has also worked with the Nepali women of Samunnut, sharing her skills to produce polymer clay jewellery and having an opportunity to earn an income.
Wendy now lives in Canberra. Information on her work and classes can be found on her website – www.afterthemonsoon.com
