Jeanette Prout – Colour Creativity Courage and Endeavour
Jeanette took a circuitous route to becoming an artist. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma of Education Jeanette attended numerous courses and workshops and completed a Fine Arts Certificate at Hornsby TAFE. She gathered ideas, information and inspiration in overseas travel and assiduously reviewed artist works. Jeanette’s travels have taken her to Perth in Western Australia, workshops throughout Sydney and workshops organised by Elaine Mortimer at Millthorpe. She has also studied in Devon, Wales, Glasgow and London.
Jeanette has tutored at Castle Hill Art Society and on occasion at CASS at their annual Art in Action.
Jeanette continues with self directed art residencies in London, Montcabrier, Lagrasse and Eygalieres France. These opportunities are invaluable for examining other influences, other artists and to explore art galleries. Her art practice covers all media including acrylic, water colour, pastels and drawing, collage and oil painting. Jeanette’s subjects cover people, place and still life. Some pieces are more realistic, others very abstract and impressionist. and selects various group exhibitions in which to participate and organises her own solo exhibitions
